THE BEACH COMPANY UNVEILS MASTER PLAN FOR KIAWAH RIVER PLANTATION
John’s Island, SC (July 29, 2008) – Last night, The Beach Company along with Charleston-based landscape architectural firm DesignWorks unveiled the Master Plan for Kiawah River Plantation. The presentation to the public was held at John’s Island High School.
Shaped by nature, Kiawah River Plantation embraces over 2,000 pristine acres. There are over 1,080 acres of high ground and over 920 acres of marshes, ponds and wetlands. The property commands over 1.5 miles of majestic Kiawah River frontage. The esteemed resort of Kiawah Island is just across the river, the property is 15 minutes from Seabrook Island, and only 30 minutes from downtown Charleston.
The community will offer a variety of homes built by local, regional and national custom home builders. Home designs will display casual elegance with southern style and comfort. A proposed “River Village” will encompass traditional single homes, cottages and townhomes within walking distance of a boathouse, retail shops, golf and a hotel.
With scenic views, waterside dining, nature and equestrian trails and exceptional golf, Kiawah River Plantation will offer the very best of Lowcountry living. Connected by sidewalk and waterfront trails, the community will have a charming atmosphere providing casual dining, unique shopping, convenient offices, a boathouse and community docks for canoeing and kayaking.
Hundreds of acres will be preserved as parkland and natural areas. Kiawah River Plantation is dedicated to conserve, protect and enhance the land, water and wildlife. Community spaces will include a variety of serene parks, trails, boardwalks, picnic areas and wildlife observation areas.
Kiawah River Plantation is wholly owned by Kiawah River Plantation, L.P., an affiliate of The Beach Company. For more information, visit www.KiawahRiverPlantation.com. or call 843.722.2615.
